Wonka Vision

Nick and I made it out to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night. My biggest hesitation was Depp as Wonka after seeing the trailers. To my surprise Depp was awesome! I loved this movie! If your thinking about seeing it you should. It was a lot of fun and had many good laughs. Elfmans score rocked and Burtons direction was beautiful. I really enjoyed Himore as Charlie. I look forward to when my kids are older and are interested in seeing this movie.

Billy the man Corgan
Nu-nee

Nick and I had a good time at the Billy concert last night. It is always so good to hear Mr. Corgan sing. I wished that I knew his new album better. Nick was able to get us wristband for good seats due to the ever growing baby James. There wasn't a bad place in the theater. It was a tiny place which made it up close and personal. There was standing room only on the floor and seating in the balcony. Thank goodness I didn't have to stand through it all! There were two opening acts so Billy didn't go on until 10:45. The whole thing started at 9pm. Nick really liked one of the opening bands. I thought they were dorks. Billy's new band mates were strange to say to least. They reminded me of the Nu-Nee's from the Saturday Night Live sketch. The chick drove me nuts. It made me miss the Pumpkins all the more.....The two highlights of the night were that James was there and came on stage to play a song with Billy. Billy introduced him as Jimmy from the former and future Smashing Pumpkins.( he either said former and future or former and present. Nick and I couldn't remember which was said) It gives hope to the reuniting of the band though. My favorite part was the last song of the night when Billy broke into U2's line "One more in the name of love" over and over again to close the show out. Pretty sweet. It was so good to have a night out together. We had an awesome dinner before the show and enjoyed being in L.A. for it has been a long time. I still want to see Wicked though. :)

Smashed

Nick and I are actually getting to go out on a date tonight. We have tickets to see Billy Corgan(or the play Wicked if you ask Nick) in L.A. tonight. I haven't seen him on his own since KROQ's acoustic Christmas in 1998. It was pretty sweet to see him do an acoustic set. He even performed Rotten Apples. I'm sure I'll never get to see that again. There was a statement from Billy saying he is working on reuniting the Pumpkins. Here's hoping. It's going to be weird to see Billy and hear no Pumpkins songs. It's always good to hear the man's voice.

42

We had Girls Night Out last night. Angela, Cyndi, and I went to see the Hitchhickers Guide to the galaxy last night. Several of us have read the book and had inside jokes and sayings from it. It was cool to see a huge machine pronounce that the answer to life the universe and everything is 42. Other than that the movie was pretty campy. I guess that's to be expected. I did get quite a few laughs out of it. Angela and Charline laughed a lot too. We all brought a towel along too. After the movie we headed over to Islands for a late dinner. It took us half of our time there to figure out the check....It was really good to get out with the girls. I need to do that more often....

I still can't believe we are going to see U2 at Madison Square Garden in October!! Have I mentioned how much I love this man, uh I mean band?
Thursday Bloddy Thursday

Well we spent the day yesterday with Cyndi and Paul at Disneyland. The kids had a lot of fun. I think Paul is still trying to recover from Drew's rasberry spit on his face. The kids are sure getting easier at places like Disneyland. They did really good last week at Sea World when we took them too.

I have to go with my sister today to get her baby circumcised. I get to hold him when they do it because my sister can't stand to be in the room. I can't say I blame her. I don't think I could be in the room when they did it to my son. I am the closest one to my nephew after my sister so I feel like I need to be there to comfort the little guy. I've heard it's much worse for him now that he is a month old compared to when they have it done when they are 2-3 days old. (He was in intensive care so they couldn't do it when he was a newbie) The nerve endings ae greater and so is the bleeding. I know I will probably cry for him. It can't be fun. And you thought your day was challenging.....
